AUIS is a private, not-for-profit university committed to providing a high-quality American-style education. To expand access and support talented students, AUIS invests significantly in reducing the cost of education through institutional funding, external sponsorships, donations, and grants. On average, more than 40% of the cost of an AUIS student’s education is covered through these sources.
Tuition rates at AUIS are merit-based and linked to academic performance. Students who achieve stronger examination results qualify for lower tuition rates through the university’s built-in scholarship structure. This approach recognizes academic achievement while making an AUIS education more accessible.

International School Graduates
British Schools
Graduates of British-style international high schools in Iraq who complete A Level exams will have their scores equalized and converted to a Baccalaureate result equivalent. Therefore, tuition fees will be billed according to the equivalency score as noted in the Tuition Fees table.
How to Calculate Your Average Grade for Tuition
To calculate your average grade for tuition purposes, follow these three simple steps.
Step 1: Convert IGCSE Letter Grades into Percentages
You need to include five required IGCSE subjects in your calculation. If your final IGCSE results show letter grades instead of percentages, use the provided conversion table to find the average percentage for each letter grade.
Step 2: Include Your A-Level or AS-Level Subjects
Add the required A-Level or AS-Level subjects to your five IGCSE subjects.
- If only one science subject is required but you have completed several science subjects, use the subject with the highest grade.
- Include only the subjects required for the calculation.
Step 3: Calculate Your Average Percentage
Add the percentages of all the subjects you have selected, then divide the total by the number of subjects included.
Example: Suppose your five IGCSE subjects have an average total of 400 percentage points, and your required A-Level subject has a percentage of 90%.
- Total percentage points: 400 + 90 = 490
- Total number of subjects: 6
- Average percentage: 490 ÷ 6 = 81.67%
This gives you an average percentage that can be used to calculate your tuition according to the applicable tuition policy.
