AUIS Showcases Academic Excellence at Iraq Students Exhibition and Higher Education Conference in Baghdad

Baghdad, October 29, 2026 – The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) participated as a Gold Sponsor in the Iraq Students Exhibition and Higher Education Conference, held in Baghdad on October 28–29, 2026, bringing together universities and educational institutions from Iraq and abroad.

The exhibition was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani, Iraq's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who also visited the AUIS booth and met with University representatives.

During his visit, the Minister was introduced to AUIS's academic programs, its American-style liberal arts education, and its commitment to providing high-quality higher education in Iraq. The visit provided an opportunity to highlight AUIS's contributions to academic excellence, innovation, and preparing graduates for the evolving demands of the job market.

Throughout the two-day event, the AUIS Admissions Team engaged with prospective students and their families, providing information about undergraduate programs, scholarship opportunities, admission requirements, and campus life.

Visitors also learned about AUIS's distinctive educational approach, which emphasizes critical thinking, communication, leadership, and practical skills. Particular attention was given to the University's flexible major and minor system, allowing students to pursue their primary academic interests while exploring additional fields of study.

AUIS's participation reflects its continued commitment to strengthening connections with students across Iraq, expanding access to quality education, and fostering greater engagement within the country's higher education sector.

As Iraq's first American university, established in 2007, AUIS continues to offer an educational experience that combines international academic standards with a strong understanding of local and regional needs.
