AUIS Ranked Among Top Private Universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq

December 10, 2015 - Sulaimani, Iraq: The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) has officially been ranked as one of the top private universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The official rankings were announced by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government earlier this week. This is the first national ranking within the KRG conducted in accordance with international ranking standards. Out of 13 private universities in Kurdistan region, only three were placed in the Group B ranking; AUIS, Cihan University of Sulaimani and the University of Human Development in Sulaimani. AUIS came out on top of the three universities within Group B, while no university, public or private, was considered for Group A this year. The universities were assessed on various criteria, including facilities, research, quality of libraries, student and lecturer evaluation, infrastructure and laboratory standards, among others. The evaluation for ranking is conducted separately for public and private universities in the region.   AUIS Interim President, Dr. Esther Mulnix said, “We are very proud and congratulate the entire community of the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani.
