Access Program Students from Kirkuk Celebrate Thanksgiving

Tuesday, November 28, 2017 - 13:15

This Thanksgiving, the AUIS Access Program had the honor of hosting the Access Program from Kirkuk run by the "For You" Institute. Over 70 students and staff travelled to Slemani to share the traditional Thanksgiving meal. The Thanksgving event was an opportunity for Slemani students to meet fellow Access Kirkuk counterparts and to give thanks and recognize the challenges the greater community has faced in the last few months. Students got a glimpse of each other's lives by exchanging ideas and experiences. The Access Program is a two-year program funded by the U.S. State Department that invites local high school students to learn about American culture and values while also working on their English Skills.
