The Communications Office is the University’s primary liaison with the news media and responsible for effective communications, which are critical to carrying out of the University mission and promoting continued support. We cultivate relationships with local, regional, national and international media outlets and provide them with detailed information about the expertise available in AUIS faculty departments to facilitate media requests for expert opinion on various social, political, economic and scientific topics. The Communications Office works closely with its media colleagues to share AUIS-related news through press releases, media alerts and media invitations.
A press release is a detailed communication distributed to media outlets and other targeted publications with the purpose of announcing newsworthy information that will generate further interest.
A media alert is a document distributed to media outlets about an upcoming conference, forum or other event and includes basic details about the event, its schedule and location.
A media invitation is a communication tool that facilitates media reporters in attending and covering conferences and events at the University and briefly addresses the five W’s - who, what, when, where and why.
