Recruiting and Admissions Coordinator

The Admissions and Recruiting Coordinator plays an exciting supporting role in AUIS’s efforts to grow its student body, continuously improve its reputation and expand its institutional profile across the region and across the country. The position has long-term potential for professional growth within the Admissions Office.
The Admissions and Recruiting Coordinator positively, accurately and persuasively represents AUIS to a variety of audiences from across Iraq. Responsibilities are a flexible combination of sales and marketing responsibilities, logistics, customer service and administrative and clerical duties:
First, in order to help AUIS meet its student recruitment goals, the Admissions and Recruiting Coordinator assists the Executive Director of Admissions and Communications in the implementation of recruiting strategies. Associated responsibilities are contacting high schools and directorates, arranging off-campus recruiting trips, speaking with prospective students and sometimes giving formal presentations about AUIS. This side of the position combines sales and marketing savvy (the ability to persuasively speak about AUIS to a broad range of audiences) with logistics (the ability to effectively plan and execute an off-campus trip to cities outside of Sulaimani.)
Additionally, in order to help AUIS meet its enrollment goals, this position assists prospects as they apply to AUIS, assisting the Executive Director to ensure that AUIS policies and procedures are being effectively enforced and customer service standards are being met. This side of the position is primarily administrative: the ability to learn admissions procedures, clearly articulate admission regulations, process applications, organize application flow as needed and enter information into database. Additional tasks includes proctoring tests outside Sulaimani in addition general customer service duties like answering phone calls and emails.
This position reports directly to and works closely with the Executive Director of Admissions and Communications.

Education and Experience
  • A university degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Must have excellent written and spoken English, Arabic, and Kurdish skills
  • Work experience preferred At least 2 years of experience in recruiting, marketing, community mobilization, or other relevant fields of work. Preferably, working experience within an educational institution. Work experience requirement is flexible depending on the applicant.
  • Ability to understand and deal with the cultural sensitivities in Iraq.
  • Proven working knowledge of personal computer software, including Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
