Holly Formolo holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology/archaeology, and a master's degree in TESOL. Before coming to Iraq, she taught in Tunisia, southeast Turkey, Bahrain, and most recently in Istanbul. In 2013, she was selected to be an English Language Teaching Fellow for the U.S. Department of State's Office of English Language Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. She was placed in the Middle East at a teachers college where she taught phonology and cultural studies to pre-service teachers.
