New Dorm Students' Tour of Sulaimani
Dorm Residents Enjoy an Evening of Bowling at a Local Mall
On Sunday, July 9, 2019, male and female residents of the AUIS dorms visited Family Mall in Sulaimani for an evening of bowling and fun. In total, 18 residents participated in the activity that was supervised by the Student Services department. Five different groups went up against each other to find the best bowlers among them.
Women's dorm hosts PUBG tournament for residents
The women's dormitory at AUIS held a PUBG tournament on the evening of February 22, 2019. Nearly 20 male and female student residents participated in the competition hosted in the women's dorms' first floor recreation room. PUBG, or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, is a popular multiplayer online game. Tickets to City Cinema and an AUIS t-shirt were awarded to the wining players.
The Student Services department at AUIS regularly organizes activities for dorm residents, including movie and game nights, as well as city tours and picnics during the Fall and Spring semesters. The department recently hosted a ping-pong and billiards tournament for male students on February 2, 2019.
Dorm residents celebrate Valentine's Day with a movie night
The Department of Student Services hosted a Valentine's Day movie night in the women's dorm for on-campus residents on February 14, 2019.
Students distributed red roses to attendees and used tea lights to decorate the room where viewers were treated to a screening of the film 'Valentines Day.'
Men's dorm holds ping-pong and billiards tournament
The men's dormitory at AUIS held a billiards and ping-pong (table tennis) competition on the evening of February 2, 2019. Some 40 different male student residents participated in the competition hosted in the dorms' first floor recreation room. Tickets to City Cinema and a trophy were awarded to the wining players.

Male dorm residents enjoy 'Relax with Snacks' evening
The Student Services department hosted a "Relax with Snacks" event in the AUIS male dorms on December 4, 2019. The event featured AUIS Counselor Ms. Frishta Kewe, who discussed her role at the University, signs of stress, ways of managing stress, and ways to support stressed friends. During the event, male dorm residents enjoyed sweets and tea provided by the Student Services department. Around 40 students attended the event.
