AUIS Entrepreneurship Initiative hosts roundtable discussion with Dutch consul general

The AUIS Entrepreneurship Initiative (AEI) hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Private Sector Growth in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region” on September 8, 2018, with members of the Sulaimani business community, AUIS community, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Department of Sustainable Economic Development (DDE) of the Netherlands and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

 

Also in attendance were Netherlands Consul General Willem Cosijn; Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Baghdad, Martijn Groen; and Policy Officer, Netherlands Consulate General, Aram Abdallah.

 

Attendees took part in a lively discussion on a range of themes including challenges in private sector development, limited access to financing for entrepreneurs, starting small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as areas for future growth.
