American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) held its seventh Career Fair on April 12, 2018, featuring some 30 diverse employers from across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The annual event provides a unique opportunity for alumni and students graduating from AUIS and other universities in the region to engage with top employers. The 2018 event included companies, non-profit organizations and alumni businesses and sponsors, from both the private and public sectors, as well as the humanitarian community.

AUIS held the largest career fair in the region, the Sulaimani Job Fair in 2015, in collaboration with Foras/USAID. The two-day event attracted some 47 employers and 1,400 job seekers. The next year’s job fair was held exclusively for AUIS students and graduates and despite the ongoing financial crisis, 36 companies from the private and public sectors registered for the event, as well as a number of NGOs and international development organizations.
In 2017, AUIS continued hosting this unique platform for both employers and job seekers as an arena meet and discuss employment opportunities, and for companies to network and promote their brands.
The 2018 Career Fair was once again open to both AUIS students and alumni as well as upper-level students from top universities in Kurdistan. Exhibitors present at the seventh career fair event enjoyed access to the most competitive pool of job seekers in Kurdistan.
