On November 14, 2019, Energy Engineering majors went on a field trip organized by the AUIS Engineering Club to the Dukan Dam, located northwest of Sulaimani city. Assistant Professor Naufel Bahjat joined the visit, which focused on examining the dam’s hydro power generation. Professor Bahjat aimed to have the students, who are in his renewable energy course, see and understand the practical side of topics covered in the class. During the visit, students also learned about the Dam’s history, its ability to produce energy, and how the turbines and generators produce electricity.
