Two AUIS senior Civil Engineering students have been published in the January issue of Structures, the research journal of the Institution of Structural Engineers. Their senior capstone research paper titled Efficient models to evaluate the effect of C3S, C2S, C3A, and C4AF contents on the long-term compressive strength of cement paste was first made available to the public on December 12, 2022.
Seniors Payam Abubakr and Ahmed Ahmed focused their research on predicting the compressive strength of cement paste from its chemical compositions. The outcome of their research is expected to have a significant impact on reducing the cost and time required of cement tests, as well as material waste.
The students’ research was conducted under the supervision of AUIS Assistant Professor Ahmed Salih Mohammed and was published with an impact factor of 4.01.
