Welcome to the Office of the Dean of Students where we prepare students for success in a pluralistic and global society.

The role of the Dean of Students Office includes maintaining and improving academic support, attendance and behavior in an effort to promote and support a culture of academic integrity at AUIS.

The purpose of this office is to reinforce quality learning and this means providing educational interventions when students make poor decisions related to personal behavior and integrity in an attempt to assist them with the successful completion of their chosen degrees at AUIS.

We stress prevention over punishment and consider our work an educational endeavor and not a moral crusade or law enforcement operation.


At AUIS, the Dean of Students leads the Department of Student Services and is actively engaged in capacity building in the Student Services staff, facilitating Student Life event programming and outreach activities. The Dean of Students is responsible for supervising student Probation system, liaising with Student Advisory Council (SAC) and leading the Behavioral Committee, which adjudicates student behavioral issues.

The Dean of Students encourages academic honesty and prevents cheating in the Undergraduate program. His duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preventing cheating

  • Investigation of possible integrity offenses

  • Investigation of possible behavioral violations, in consultation with the Director of Student Services

  • Notification of failures due to absences

  • Proctoring exams and quizzes with professors

  • Conducting incoming Freshmen Orientations

  • Assisting with Probation

  • Ex officio member of the Dismissal and Readmission Committee
